Bears moving on to district finals, first time since 1998
For the first time since 1998, the Spencer County Bears will be advancing to the 8th Region Tournament following a 60-47 win over Anderson County Tuesday night in the semi-finals of the 30th District Tournament at Taylorsville.
The win puts Spencer County in the district championship game on Saturday night with a chance for the school's first district tournament title since 1984. The Bears will face the winner of Thursday night's Shelby County-Collins game at 7 p.m.

Spencer County’s 67-51 win over Collins last week was big for a number of reasons. It was the first ever match-up between the Bears and the new school, it was a big district win and put the Bears in the driver’s seat for the top seed in the district tournament next month.
