Show your hope by “Painting the Town Purple” on Friday and Saturday.
Spencer County Relay for Life is planning its annual “Paint the Town Purple” Weekend, an awareness event to prepare the town and community for the upcoming American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life- Spencer County celebration.
The local Relay event will be be held on June 10 at Spencer County High School.
This year, like last year, we are encouraging all of our businesses to dress up their store fronts using purple items that will show their support for Relay for Life and the never ending fight against cancer.
If a business can’t dress their store window, a purple ribbon or bow would certainly enhance the streets as well as show their commitment.
Plans are to involve all of the businesses in the city of Taylorsville and along Ky. 155 as well.  Each business will then be judged on its appearance, use of purple and overall effectiveness of display using the theme “Show Your Hope”.
The best decorated business will be honored the night of Relay.
If you are a business and wish to be judged please contact Joy Thompson at 643-1573 or Carol Stratton at 299-2076.
On Saturday, Paint the Town Purple Weekend will continue with a  Cook-Out from 11-2 p.m. in front of  Country Mart.   To conclude our day, we will continue to “Paint the Town”  with additional ribbons and bows.
Come and join us in this day of community  preparation and festivity.
