Michael A. McCarthy Jr., of Taylorsville, has been indicted with 23 other people in a Jefferson County court on several counts of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine.
Authorities with the Louisville branch of the Drug Enforcement Administration believe that McCarthy, 28, headed up the $5 million cocaine operation. More than 200 pounds of cocaine was being moved from Los Angeles to Louisville on a monthly basis, making it one of the city’s largest drug rings, said DEA Assistant Special Agent Tom Gorman.
