C.L. Glasscock brought in this photo, which was run during his time as Spencer County Judge Executive. Pictured enjoying a trip to the Louisville Redbirds-Wichita Aeros baseball game are Glasscock, his wife Roberta, Gretchen Williams (foregroud), Mark Glasscock and Bland Baird (upper left.) Seven buses took more than 500 Spencer Countians to watch the game on ‘Spencer County Nite.’ The group was one of the largest to attend a Redbirds game that year according to a letter received by Glasscock from the Redbirds. While the accompanying article says the trip took place on July 10, no year is given.

Joseph Ruble, a current Shelby Countian leading an effort to erect a statue of Squire Boone in that county, stopped by our office recently to show off this postcard. The card, Ruble says, depicts a scene from the Spencer County Fair and is postmarked in Taylorsville in the early 1900s.
