Board of education seeking interested applicants to fill Waterford seat, to be vacant Jan. 1

The Spencer County Board of Education is currently undergoing a process to fill the Waterford board member’s seat, which will be vacant as of Jan. 1.
The board is accepting applications from interested candidates through Friday.  The seat is up in December and no candidates filed for the position, meaning an appointment must be made by the Kentucky Commisioner of Education, Terry Holliday.
Prospects will be interviewed by a committee, which will determine the recommendation made by Holliday.
The appointment is only until the next general election.
