After 26 years of service as Fire Chief of Mt. Eden Fire Department, Alvin Burgin has recently stepped down from his position.
According to fellow fire fighter, Sgt. Hal Herndon, “Burgin was a laid back chief,” he said. “Anybody that spends 26 years with a department especially as chief, well that’s a long time.”
It is said that Burgin is not one to toot his own horn, but during his time as chief there were two new stations built among other achievements to his credit.
