Collins of Hilliard Lyons advances
The board of directors of J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, LLC (Hilliard Lyons) recently announced that Jason Collins of the firm’s Lexington office has been elected to the position of vice president.
The recognition is based on Collins’ account service achievements, according to a news release.
Collins is a former Mount Eden resident and is a son of Susan Collins of Mount Eden.
Hilliard Lyons focuses on the creation, preservation and distribution of its clients’ wealth. The firm specializes in planning issues that include retirement, business succession, trust and estate planning and education funding.  Hilliard Lyons offers comprehensive financial services and advice, including professionally managed accounts, as well as a broad menu of investment vehicles, such as stocks, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities and insurance to facilitate the financial strategies recommended.


Carrier promoted to rank of Major
Lt. Shane Carrier of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement Division was recently promoted to the rank of Major and will be serving as the Assistant Director of the Law Enforcement Division.
His new duties will include overseeing law enforcement operations in districts 1-4, Homeland Security missions, emergency operations, communications, and also serving as the state boating law administrator.
Major Carrier began his career as a conservation officer in 2001 and was assigned to the third district where he primarily patrolled Spencer County and Taylorsville Lake.  He was promoted to lieutenant in 2009 and served as the third district commander until his recent promotion.
