Celebrating National FFA week

Members of the Spencer county FFA chapter will join the 150 other chapters in the Kentucky Association  celebrating National FFA Week.  

As part of National FFA Week, the local members have planned a week long celebration.    

The celebration started with a community breakfast   for community leaders on February 16.  Over 125 individuals attended the breakfast.  This was followed with the Greenhand Initiation on February 18.  Eighty-eight freshmen members received the FFA Greenhand Degree. Over 300 members, parents, and guests attended.

Teacher appreciation was held on February 23,    with  FFA hat day on February 24 to raise money for the Back Pack Buddy Food program.   On that evening the chapter officers   attended a workshop held at Nelson County FFA with the National FFA President.    

Today’s activities include an FFA t-shirt day and pizza party.  The highlight of tomorrow will be an FFA meeting and a chapter bowling party. On Friday, the highlight  is a chapter picnic and corn hole tournament. 

Over 20 other chapters are expected to attend the Spencer County  Invitational   speaking  and leadership competition  on Saturday.
