Risen Lord Lutheran plans couples Valentine dinner
Risen Lord Lutheran Church will host a free couples Valentine dinner on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the church.
The menu will consist of salad, spaghetti, lasagna and dessert. Entertainment will include marriage jokes and the “Oldie Wed Game.”

Women’s Bible study
First Baptist Church Women’s Ministry invites the women of the community to join in the Bible study, “Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense” by Jennifer Rothschild. This seven-week study teaches women how to walk by faith, not by sight.
The study begins Monday, Feb. 11. There will be two sessions each Monday. The first session is 9:15-11:15 a.m. and the second one is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Both sessions will held at First Baptist Church.

St. Francis Xavier parish plans women’s retreat
Women ages 18 and up are invited to Cozy Mountain Lodge Retreat at St. Francis Xavier parish at 155 Stringer Lane in Mount Washington led by the women of the parish. The mountain lodge-themed retreat, includes worship, Bible Study, and time for laughter as well as quiet reflection.
The retreat runs from 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, until 9:30 p.m. and then continues the next day, Saturday, March 2, at 9 a.m. finishing by 4 p.m.
Cost is $30. This covers snacks Friday evening, a light breakfast and lunch on Saturday and all supplies for the retreat including a special music CD.
Attendees must preregister by downloading the registration form from www.sfxmw.com or by contacting Lisa Downs at lisa.downs@sfxmw.com or 502-955-5366. The deadline to register is Monday, Feb. 11.

Narcotics Anonymous meetings at First Christian
Narcotics Anonymous meetings will be held at First Christian Church weekly on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

Ridgeview Baptist hosts Celebrate Recovery
Ridgeview Baptist Church at 10 Dogwood Circle will host its Celebrate Recovery group each Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christian-based eight-step recovery program. Anyone struggling with an addiction, unwanted habit or hurt is encouraged to attend.
Worship at Signature
The Mission for Christ will be ministering in word and song at Signature Health Care on the first Thursday of each month. The community is invited. C.L. Glasscock is pastor.

Wednesday night activities at First Baptist
First Baptist Church of Taylorsville hosts an array of Christ-centered family activities on Wednesday nights starting with a free family meal at 6:30 p.m.
Adult prayer meeting and Bible study starts at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.
The meal is followed by interesting Bible study classes for preschool, elementary, middle and high school students at 7 p.m.
Transportation is available to those who do not have a way to get to the church. There is a program for all ages, so please come and join us.

Mary’s Clothes Closet
Mary’s Clothes Closet at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, located at 145 W. Main Street, has children’s clothing for newborns to size 7.
This non-profit service also offers emergency diapers and wipes.
The Clothes Closet is located in the large building directly behind the church. Hours are every Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. or by appointment.

Al-Anon meetings at Methodist church
Al-Anon meetings are each Monday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, 175 W. Main St.

Women’s AA meeting
A women’s AA meeting is planned for Saturdays from 5 to 6 p.m. at 99 Mobile Drive. This is the same meeting previously held at Spencer Christian Church. However, the location has changed.
The format of the meeting is closed, with discussion, organizers said.

AA meetings at three locations
The following AA meetings are offered locally:
• Each Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 410 Main Cross.
• Each Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Spencer County Extension Office, 100 Oak Tree Way.
• Each Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Spencer County Extension office, 100 Oak Tree Way.

Second Baptist cancels February Dare to Care
The Second Baptist Church Dare to Care giveaway scheduled for Feb. 9 has been cancelled due to low inventory.
