Risen Lord Lutheran chili cook-off
There will be a chili cook-off competition and chili dinner at Risen Lord Lutheran Church Saturday at 6 p.m. Bring your favorite chili and compete for first, second and third place trophies or just bring it for fun (no cost to enter). It is $5 per person for all you can eat chili (kids 12 and under eat free). The church is located at 5138 Taylorsville Road across from the Elk Creek Grocery/gas station.

Knights of Columbus chicken dinner
The Knights of Columbus–All Saints Council in Taylorsville invites the community to its all-you-can-eat chicken dinner on Jan. 19 from noon until 2 p.m. at All Saints Church on Main Cross in Taylorsville. The meal features broasted chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, butter noodles, and all kinds of desserts. The dinner is on the third Sunday of each month at the same time. Drink and dessert are included.
Prices range from $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $4.50 for children 4-12, and children 3 and under are free. Eight-piece boxes of chicken to go are also available for $10. Proceeds go to the All Saints Council of the Knights of Columbus to fund charitable work.

Women’s Bible study at First Baptist
First Baptist Church will host a Beth Moore women’s Bible study titled, “David: Seeking a heart like his,” beginning Monday, Jan. 27. There will be two sessions, 9:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The study facilitator is Charlotte Nedros.

Valentine’s banquet at Ridgeview Baptist
Ridgeview Baptist Church is hosting its second-annual Valentine’s Banquet Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. Children are invited!
Ticket prices are $10 for adult couples, $7 for a single ticket 14 years or older, $5 for children 7-13 and children 6 and under are free.

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery, at King’s Baptist Church, will meet Mondays at 6 p.m. with Solid Rock Cafe at 5:45 p.m. Child care is provided.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christian-based eight-step recovery program. Anyone struggling with an addiction, unwanted habit or hurt is encouraged to attend.
