First Christian to host family fun night

First Christian Church in Taylorsville will host a family fun night Nov. 5.

Admission will be $10 for adults and $5 for youth and children.

The meal includes a porkchop sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, desert and a drink. Bingo will also be played.

The community is invited to attend.

Donate to Shop with a Cop

Christmas is coming soon and your help is needed to make the Spencer County Sheriff’s office Shop with a Cop a success.

Donations can be given to any sheriff’s deputy or dropped off at the sheriff’s office. Donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 475, Taylorsville, Ky. 40071.

Please make checks payable to the Spencer County Sheriff c/o Shop with a Cop. 100 percent of donations received will be used to provide warm clothing, toiletries and a few Christmas presents to needy children in the county.

Breaking Free of addictions

Lighthouse Baptist Church is hosting its addictions/recovery program titled “Breaking FREE.”

This program is designed for anyone struggling with a stubborn habit, hangup or hurt.

Classes will be held each Wednesday night at 7 p.m. and will begin with a series on studying the principles of real freedom.

Support groups begin at 8 p.m. to offer wise and helpful counsel to those in need.

Breaking FREE features an all new staff of compassionate volunteers who will make you feel right at home.

Everyone is welcome to attend one or both hours.

Lighthouse Baptist Church is located at 88 Miller Rd., four miles east of Taylorsville on Hwy 44.

Mary’s Clothes Closet at Taylorsville United Methodist Church

Mary’s Clothes Closet at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, located at 145 W. Main Street, has children’s clothing for newborns to size 7. This non-profit service also offers emergency diapers and wipes. The Clothes Closet is located in the large building directly behind the church. Hours are every Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. or by appointment.
