“THE CHRISTMAS COUNTY SPELLING BEE”

Please join us at Plum Creek Baptist Church for our Christmas musical celebration, “THE CHRISTMAS COUNTY SPELLING BEE” on Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m.  Both performances are free of charge and open to the public.  

On Saturday night, make it an evening out for the entire family.  Our youth group is hosting a Christmas dinner fund raiser at 5 p.m.  Enjoy a cozy sit-down dinner of ham, salad, two sides, desert and drink with your family for only $7.00 per adult, $6.00 per child or Family (household of four or more) for $25.00.  Please call the church office for tickets (477-2582) or see a member of the youth group.

Winter clothing drive

It’s that time of year again to open our hearts and think of the ones less fortunate.

Once again there is a great need to help those in our community and elsewhere to stay warm this winter.

We all know the feel of a warm coat, soft blanket, warm hat and gloves, but for some less fortunate, this is a hardship for them. So with this thought in mind, if you have  new or used coats, blankets, hats or gloves, or any warm items that you would like to donate, call Judy Bentley at 52-477-8249 or Parkland Hills Baptist Church at 502-477-2222. Judy will gladly come pick up items at your home.

Christmas breakfast for the community

Mount Eden Christian Church, located at 1224 Mount Eden Road in Mount Eden, will host their Christmas Community Breakfast, Saturday, December 13 at 8 a.m.  Everyone is welcome to come and share this time of fellowship, good food and a visit from Santa. 

Advent services at Risen Lord Lutheran

Parkland Hills offers GriefShare

We have extended the registration deadline for the 13-week GriefShare grief recovery and support program to December 28.  The revised start date will be January 5, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. Registration fee is $20 and includes workbook, materials, and resources. Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser at Little Union Baptist Church Saturday at 7:30 am. Pancakes, Bacon/Sausage, Orange Juice/Coffee.  Adults $5, Kids $3.  Money is being raised for a new fellowship hall.

English classes at Parkland Hills

Parkland Hills Baptist Church, at 9614 Taylorsville Road  (Hwy 155 at the Spencer/Jefferson County Line), offers a free “English As a Second Language” (ESL) class each Sunday evening at 6 p.m.  If you would like to attend or desire details, please call the church at 477-2222.

Wednesday family night

Join Plum Creek Baptist Church located at the corner of Hwy. 44 and Plum Creek Road in Waterford for Wednesday Family Night.  There will be a free meal served for the entire family - donations gladly accepted - from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Starting at 6:30 p.m. there will be programs available for the whole family, such as:  Pre-school children through fifth grade can participate in FaithWeaver Friends, an exciting program of crafts, games and Bible study.  Middle and high school youth join Youth Minister Cuatro Nelson for a time of worship and study.  Adults have their choice of either “Parental Guidance Required,” a class for parents, or “Opening Revelation,” a study through the book of revelation.

Taylorsville United Methodist Church will host a community Christmas Eve service December 24 at 11 p.m. This candlelight service features Christmas music, special music and Bible readings that tell the Christmas story.
