Holiday Bazaar at First Baptist Church of

Fisherville

First Baptist Church of Fisherville, located at 15001 Old Taylorsville Road in Fisherville, will be having their holiday bazaar Saturday, November 14 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for gifts, crafts, food and fun.

Bethesday Church of God revival

Bethesda Church of God, located at 2246 Taylorsville Rd., Shelbyville, will be having revival services November 15-18. The revival service will be held on Sunday night at 6 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday nights. The speaker will be Reverend Doug Lutes of Bardstown. For details call 859-375-4489.

Flea Market at Second Baptist Church

Second Baptist Church, located at 401 Jefferson Street, will be having a Flea Market beginning at 9 a.m. November 27-28 at their Family Life Center. Booth rentals are still available and cost $25. Booth rental must be paid by November 13. Food will be sold by the Men’s group during both days. Call Kathy Hickman at 477-9251 or 220-2699 for booth space rental or for more information.

Revival at Plum Creek Baptist

Plum Creek Baptist Church is hosting  revival services November 1-4. The revival schedule will be as follows:

November 4 – Community dinner at 5:45, revival service at 7 p.m.

Bethesda Church of God annual auction and chili supper

Bethesday Church of God will be having their annual auction and chili supper at 5 p.m. November 7 at the Stratten Center in Shelbyville. Cost will be $7 for adults. Children under the age of 6 eat free. There will be a live auction for numerous items. For details call 859-375-4489 or 805-1859.

Lighthouse Baptist offers bus service

Lighthouse Baptist Church offers van service every Sunday morning between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.. For pick-up, call 477-8600.

Mary’s Clothes Closet

Mary’s Clothes Closet at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, located at 145 W. Main Street, has children’s clothing for newborns to size 7. This non-profit service also offers emergency diapers and wipes. The Clothes Closet is located in the large building directly behind the church. Hours are every Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. or by appointment. Everyone is welcome. For more information please call 477-8718.

Gingerbread House Contest

The gingerbread house contest will be held in conjunction with Christmas on Main Street.  Entries should be turned in at The Red Scooter any time between Nov. 9, and Nov. 20.

Christmas tree contest and

auction

The Christmas Tree Contest and Auction will be held December 11. Help the Main Street program by donating a decorated tree, wreath, or centerpiece. Items will be on display from December 5 thru December 11. They will be auctioned after Christmas on Main Street. Items should be brought to the Sanctuary by December 5.  Donate to Shop-With-A-Cop

Christmas is coming soon and with your help the Spencer County Sheriff’s office is going to take some or our needy children shopping. Donate to any Sheriff’s deputy or at the Sheriff’s office. Make checks payable to  Spencer County Sheriff, c/o Shop-With-A-Cop. Donations may be mailed to Spencer County Sheriff, PO Box 475, Taylorsville KY, 40071, or dropped off at the Sheriff’s office. Your donation is greatly appreciated. 100% of all donations goes to the children.

Senior Center activities

The Multi Purpose Community Action Senior Center is the place to be for ages 60 and older. There is food, crafts, games, and education. Lunch is served daily. Please call by 11 a.m. the day before to let them know you will be having lunch. Transportation is provided Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The facility is located at 44 Creekside Drive in Taylorsville and is open from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information, please call Linda at 477-8296.

Help for addictions

Lighthouse Baptist Church offers a faith-based program designed to help break the bonds of addiction. Meetings of Reformers Unanimous are held each Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the church, located at 88 Miller Road. Personal and group counseling are provided. Other free services include transportation, nursery and childcare. Call 477-8600 to schedule transportation.

Families in need

Do you have some furniture piled up in the basement that you just aren’t using and probably never will? The Spencer County Family Resource Center has a few families that are in need of furniture. To donate, call Becky Wilson at 477-3202 or 477-0199.

Volunteers needed to deliver meals

Volunteers are needed to help with the home meal deliveries to our shut-ins.  This requires a couple of hours one or more mornings a week based on your availability.  Volunteers must provide their own transportation. There are also other volunteer opportunities available.  Call Linda at Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency 477-8296.

Senior Center needs volunteers

Multi-Purpose CAA has many senior support services and activities. They are in need of volunteers to help at the Senior Center with crafts, games, and various other projects. The Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency provides meals to senior citizens at our facility and home delivered meals to senior citizens through the Spencer County Senior Life Enrichment Center.
