Old Gospel Barn Gospel Sing 

The Old Gospel Barn, located at 11286 Louisville Road (Hwy 31E), Cox’s Creek, will be having a gospel sing Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Performances will be by Terri Milby from Greensburg, and the Cumbos.  Admission is free. Plan to come and bring your family and friends.

Senior Center activities

The Multi Purpose Community Action Senior Center is the place to be for ages 60 and older. There is food, crafts, games, and education. Lunch is served daily. Please call by 11 a.m. the day before to let them know you will be having lunch. Transportation is provided Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The facility is located at 44 Creekside Drive in Taylorsville and is open from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information, please call Linda at 477-8296.

Help for addictions

Lighthouse Baptist Church offers a faith-based program designed to help break the bonds of addiction. Meetings of Reformers Unanimous are held each Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the church, located at 88 Miller Road. Personal and group counseling are provided. Other free services include transportation, nursery and childcare. Call 477-8600 to schedule transportation.

English classes at Parkland Hills

Parkland Hills Baptist Church, located at 9614 Taylorsville Road near the Spencer-Jefferson county line, offers a free “English As a Second Language” (ESL) class each Sunday evening at 6 p.m.  For more information about this program, please call the church at 477-2222.

Free tutoring

First Baptist Church on Main Street in Taylorsville is offering free tutoring in basic reading and math skills for students in Grades 1 – 8.  Tutors will be available on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon.  Please enter through the Agape door at the side parking lot.  New students should come at 9:45 to allow registration time.  All are welcome.

Lighthouse Baptist offers bus service

Lighthouse Baptist Church offers van service every Sunday morning between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.. For pick-up, call 477-8600.

Carnival for a Cure needs committee members
