City commission considers police budget, new chief

The Taylorsville City Commission conducted two special meetings last week regarding the city’s upcoming 2014-2015 fiscal year budget, which included significant discussion regarding the city’s police force.
The first special meeting, held on April 7 included Kentucky League of Cities representatives Andrea Shindlebower and Mark Filburn. Filburn, a law enforcement specialist for KLC made a presentation regarding the city’s future hire of a new police chief. The new chief has become a necessity due to the retirement of current chief Toby Lewis.
