The City of Taylorsville finalized an agreement with newly named police chief Phil Crumpton Thursday during a special called meeting.
According to the terms of the agreement, Crumpton will be paid $25 per hour for a maximum of 100 hours per month. The city also created a new position of major which will be a 100 hour per month maximum position.
Crumpton said that he presented the plan to the commissioners as an option to save costs.
