Seventeen former members of the Taylorsville High School Class of 1952 and seven spouses gathered at Claudia Sanders Dinner House, Shelbyville, on Saturday, June 7, for a reunion and fun time.
Participants included Rena (Pollett) and Marlyn Baird, Bonnie (Cox) Bodine, Scott and Jane (Winchester) Carr, Esther (Brumley) Davenport, Betty June (Walker) Harp, Ardia (Edwards) Herndon, Tom and Alice Kirsch, Mary (Cook) and Rudolph Leathers, Pauline (McGaughey) and Truman McClain, Nellie (Cook) Nation, Frances (Satterly) Ockerman, Lunett (Ingram) Powell, Annie Ruth (King) and Doyle Smith, Harold Summers, Harold and Jo Ann Goodlett, and Stanley and Charlotte Wakefield.
The 16 deceased graduates were remembered with the lighting of a memorial candle and moments of silence. Following the meal, members present shared events in their lives since the reunion in 2012, which was a celebration of their 60th reunion.
Everyone appreciated the committee of Frances Ockerman, Mary Leathers, Tom Kirsch, and Jane and Scott Carr for arranging for this gathering and look forward to meeting again in 2016.
