The 13th annual Taylorsville Lake Clean Sweep was Saturday, Sept. 29. Over 150 volunteers picked up about 15 yards of trash and 21 tires. Twelve Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops helped this year. The Taylorsville Lake Conservation Association thanks all those who donated boats, ice and materials. Organizers said the trash pickup yardage was down, but considered it a good sign. ‘[It] didn’t mean that the 155 volunteers worked any less,’ organizers said. ‘They still have to cover the same amount of ground. Picking up less trash means that we are getting a handle on things in these areas and people may be more responsible.’ For more information or to become a part of the TLCA, call 477-8882 and ask for Lisa or leave a message.
