COLUMN: America has taken turn for the worse

Our country has gotten so evil sometimes one has to wonder how long God will wait before he burns the whole world up. God has blessed us so and we are supposed to be the nation who is a witness for God to the other nations. I’m afraid we have become a bad witness.
Our Supreme Court ruled a 2,700-page Health Care bill was constitutional; 39 years ago, our Supreme Court ruled that abortion was constitutional and last year three churches in Louisville got together and celebrated the 38th anniversary of this event.
Evil has taken over our television, our news media and a lot of our home. A lot of our homes have two people living in them out of wedlock, committing adultery before their children. Some homes have two men living together and two women living together.
On our television we see mostly bad news. We see murder, adultery, robbing, stealing, lying, fraud and just about every ungodly thing you can mention or think about. Some may ask where does all of this ungodly stuff stop? I can tell you where it stops. It stops when God says enough is enough.
When I grew up, boys had a saying, “Enough is enough, and then the fireworks.” I don’t believe us boys knew what the fireworks were; now I know because Peter wrote about it.
2 Peter 3: 10-12 says, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the Earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness. Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.”
Question: If this happened today, tomorrow, next week or even a year from now would you be ready to meet the Lord? We do not know when it will happen, but we know it is going to happen. And if we have not made it right with Jesus, it will be too late. Satan has got a lot of people believing they can live an evil life, just live it up and everything is going to be alright. This is the biggest lie he could tell you but Satan was a liar from the beginning. If we think we can keep sinning against Jesus and not come to the cross before Jesus, we will find ourselves with the devil and his angels. Jesus is the only way to miss Hell. Some may tell you there is another way.
John 14:6 says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the father but by me.”
If you are living an evil life, come to Jesus, which is very easy because Jesus has already paid the price.
Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved.”
