On September 28, I will be 81 years old – if I live that long. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was 31 years old. This next year I will be celebrating my real birthday, which is when I was born again through the blood of Jesus Christ. In this rebirth, I will live forever. My natural birth will pass away, but in my rebirth, I will live forever. The 31 years I lived without Jesus, it seemed there was always something missing in my life, even in the good times there was something missing; but when I accepted Jesus as my Savior, he came into my heart and filled what was missing. He was the only one that could fill that empty place in my soul because it was created by Jesus for him.
As we look at life here on earth, we live just a little while, and then we are gone. But in eternity, we live forever. We have a choice. We can spend forever in two different places. We can spend it in heaven with Jesus, or we can spend it in hell with the devil. One thing for sure, our life upon this earth is not very long.
“Man is like to vanity, his days are a shadow that passeth away. Psalm 144:4.
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appearethfor a little time and then vanisheth away. “ James 4:14.
I believe most people forty years or older will say our life is really passing away. The question is, what are we going to do with our life. Are we going to dedicate it to Jesus Christ?
In our church Sunday, we had a praise service. We had a great time sharing with each other how great God was in our life and the things he was doing for us and our church. It is amazing what praising the Lord can do for a church.
Take a look at Psalm 150.
“Praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts. Praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet. Praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with timbrel and dance. Praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals. Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise ye the Lord. “
If you have not tried praising the Lord, please try it. It is very easy to find something to praise him for.
