COLUMN: Local students exhibit some fine swine at market show

Congratulations to all of the swine exhibitors. In the 4-H/FFA Market Swine Show, Matthew Jeffiers, Emily Hume, Danielle Montgomery, Ashley Montgomery, Ethan McClain, Makayla Hatzman, Dalton Stallings and Dillon Stallings represented Spencer County 4-H and FFA well in the Spot, Duroc, Yorkshire and Crossbred classes.


Ethan McClain placed fifth in the Spot Market Class and received Reserve Champion Kentucky Proud Spot Market Hog.
In  showmanship, Courtney Jeffiers placed third and Makayla Hatzman was in top five overall in their age divisions.
In the 4-H/FFA Breeding Swine Show, Courtney Jeffiers received first in January Spot Gilt and Grand Champion Spot Gilt and Danielle Montgomery received Reserve Grand Champion Spot Gilt.
Congratulations to Wayne Montgomery and the entire Twin Plum Farm crew for receiving the Grand Champion Spot Boar, Grand Champion Yorkshire Boar, Grand Champion Duroc Boar, and Grand Champion Spot Gilt in the Kentucky State Fair Open Swine Show.
