Communications Day winners advance to state

The 2012 Louisville Area Communications Day was held on Saturday, April 28th at the Shelby County Extension Office.  I am so proud to say that everyone from Spencer County did an outstanding job.


Junior General Demonstration:  1st Place and Blue Ribbon - Apryl Wood demonstrated Egyptian Mythology: The Legend of Osiris and Isis.

Junior Science & Natural Resources Demonstration:  1st Place and Blue Ribbon - Brant Muddell demonstrated How to Catch Bass With Class.

Junior Safety Demonstration:  1st Place and Blue Ribbon - Tyler Moehrke demonstrated How to Prepare for Medical Emergencies.

Senior S.E.T. Demonstration:  1st Place and Blue Ribbon - Jacob Barnett demonstrated Model Rockets.

Speech Category (10 Years Old):  Blue Ribbon - Noah Dunning - Peyton Siva, A Great Player of Our Time.

Speech Category (13 Years Old): 1st Place and Blue Ribbon - Lilli Hanik - Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow.

Speech Category (18 Years Old):  1st Place and Blue Ribbon - Danielle Montgomery, Swine.

Variety Show Specialty Acts: Blue Ribbon - Danielle Montgomery, Clarinet Solo.

Variety Show Specialty Acts: Red Ribbon - Leah Shelburne, Flute Solo.

Congratulations to all of the participants and winners Everyone did an outstanding job. Apryl Wood, Brant Muddell, Tyler Moehrke, Jacob Barnett, Lilli Hanik, and Danielle Montgomery placed first at the Louisville Area Communications Day so they will have the opportunity to represent Spencer County at the State Contest on Saturday, July 14, at the University of Kentucky.  Thank you also to all of the 4-H members, family members, volunteers and judges for making the 2012 Louisville Area 4-H Communications Day a huge success.
