Spencer County Schools employees will be facing across the board cuts when the new fiscal year begins in July. The school board, who approved the furlough days Monday night, expects to save about $80,000.
Nearly all of the district’s 310 employees will be affected by reductions to their contracts. While teachers are expected to lose two days at the hands of state legislators, the remaining classified employees and a few certified positions are looking at losing five to 20 days.
