Crews graduates from U.S. Navy Boot Camp in Illinois

Seaman Apprentice Jacob Tyler Crews, 21, of Taylorsville, graduated from the U.S. Navy Boot Camp at the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., on Oct. 5.

Crews successfully completed 8 weeks of intensive basic training as one of the 952 recruits in training in Division 947. While in basic training, Crews was awarded the expert marksmanship medal, the highest award in weapons qualifications.
Crews will attend his advanced school in Great Lakes, Ill. He is scheduled to deploy on Dec. 1 to Yokosuka, Japan on the USS John McClain.
Crews is the son of Kelly and Melissa Crews and the grandson of Aline Prewitt, all of Taylorsville, and the grandson of Philip and Dorothy Crews of Bowling Green.
