In six months, the Taylorsville City Commission and Spencer County Fiscal Court should finally have its approval for $1 million in state and federal grant funds to address drainage issues inside the Taylorsville levee — that was the message from officials present at a special meeting last Wednesday afternoon.
However, an application for those funds has been pending since before 2010 and, as Mayor Don Pay said during Wednesday’s meeting, “this has been going on for five years and frustration levels are high.”
