Driver trapped, extricated in crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash last Tuesday afternoon on Bloomfield Road.

According to the collision report, filed by Spencer County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Montgomery, Dorothy A. Johnson, 63, of the 3800 block of Bloomfield Road, was traveling south on Ky. 55 when her 2006 white Ford Taurus veered off the right shoulder.
Johnson overcorrected, crossed the center line and struck a 2007 brown GMC Sierra, in the front end.
Johnson was extricated by the Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Department and was airlifted via stat flight to University of Louisville Hospital, according to the collision report.
The Sierra was driven by Amy G. Verder, 40, of Kelly Drive.
Verder and her passenger, Leandra Verder, 23, of the same address, were each transported via Spencer County EMS to University of Louisville Hospital.
The collision occurred in the 2800 block of Bloomfield Road shortly before 5 p.m. last Tuesday.
Alcohol is not suspected as factor in the crash. Human factors listed are inattention and not under proper control.
According to the report, both vehicles were traveling between 50 and 60 mph.
