Education - Building for the future at TES

-A A +A

On behalf of the staff of Taylorsville Elementary School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2015-16 school year! We are looking forward to building a productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential.

This is my first year at TES and I am excited about the energy and expertise that I see in our building, teachers and support staff. I look forward to the opportunity to meet each of you on Thursday, August 6th at 5:00. TES will be hosting Rucker’s Rocking Back to School Bash in our cafeteria before our 1st through 5th grade open house. This will be a great time of fellowship and fun for students and parents alike to come in and meet the new man on campus.

This is a great time to be at TES. The energy in our building is contagious. Teachers and staff have been buzzing around planning new lessons, engaging in professional development, and getting their rooms in order to welcome our students back to a new year of learning and growing. Along with getting our current building ready for the new year, we continue to plan for the new TES; working with architects, engineers and construction staff to plan for an outstanding new home for an outstanding school!

Parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts and uncles, we need to see more of you! Not just on open house night, but every day! TES and our PTO are looking for willing volunteers to do everything from reading to students in small groups, building gardens, or having lunch with classes in the cafeteria. We hope this is a year of renewed strong partnerships with our parents and families.

As we come into the last week of summer break, I ask that you start to get our students back into a routine to help them be ready for school. Getting a solid nights rest, eating a healthy breakfast, and reading together every day will help prepare your student’s brain to work at peak performance.

I thank you for the opportunity to serve as your student’s principal at TES and look forward to working together to ensure we are “Going the Distance” for all Students.

Steven Rucker,
TES Principal
