September 1, Reverend Joshua McFarland began serving as the new Pastor of Elk Creek Baptist Church. Pastor Josh and the leaders of the church are very excited about what God is doing at Elk Creek and are looking forward to reaching out to the needs of the people in Spencer County.
Josh and his wife Lela, former music teacher at Spencer County Elementary, have been married for 6 1/2 years and have two beautiful daughters, Jovey (3 1/2) and Laney (15 months).
Josh currently serves as the Technology Training Center Director for Campbellsville University’s Louisville Campus and is also pursuing his Masters in Theology degree from CU. Before coming to ECBC he served as associate pastor for students at Maple Grove Baptist Church in Louisville. Josh also works extensively with the Kentucky Baptist Convention in a number of different ways including the Kentucky Changers Youth Camp.
“Elk Creek is an exciting place with lots to offer. We are pumped about the new opportunity that God has placed before us and are looking forward to getting to know the people of the community. If you are looking for a church home or just have some questions about this Jesus guy, please come by and visit. Even if Elk Creek isn’t the place for you, we want to help you find out what God wants to do in and through you,” says Pastor Josh.
