Spencer County Cooperative Extension will join with thousands of other extension services across the United States May 8 to celebrate the creation of cooperative extension in America.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever congressional act, which was signed in 1914.
Spencer County Agriculture Extension Agent Bryce Roberts said the event will also serve as the local extension service’s open house and building dedication.
“We just thought this would be a great time to celebrate,” Roberts said.
