Recently member of the Spencer County Fair Board were awarded the Most Progressive Fair award for our district and our size. This is the second time we have won this award in the past several years. We won the most progressive fair for the entire state in 2006. We would like to thank the attendees of the fair events which help us to achieve this lofty prize.

The fair strives to provide an economical family event close to home. Due to the recent budget cuts in Frankfort the fair will receive $3000 less in matching funds this year. This accompanied by increased fuel cost for the midway and increased insurance cost is playing havoc with the plans for this year’s fair. As we plan events at the fairgrounds there will be a tool sale on April 26. The Bluegrass Working Terrier show will be May 9. We are starting this years motor sport events with an Ohio Valley tractor pull with two classes of hot farm tractors on June 13. The horse pull will be July 17 and 18 with the midway and motor sports beginning on July 28 through August 1.
