source and Youth Service Centers continue to feel the sting of statewide belt-tightening financially.
It’s not that the pie is getting any smaller, according to Family Resource Center coordinator Becky Wilson – the state government’s funding of the centers as a whole is not necessarily decreasing. Instead, more children statewide are moving to the “free lunch” category, therefore giving more schools access to the funding. The individual slice of the pie that Spencer County receives from the state is the part that continues to decrease.
