The SCSA U6/U8 division has officially come to a close. The season ended Oct. 23 with a fun day at the park and a very exciting U8 tournament.

The SCSA hosted a fun day by giving all U6/U8 players a free drink and sandwich, setting up bouncies for all players and siblings, and putting on the Mike Mile’s U8 Soccer Tournament.

It was a day filled with excited children playing the “world’s game”. The tournament is in memory of the late Michael Miles, a longtime coach and mentor of the Spencer County Soccer Association. It is a great way to end the season and the kids, parents, and coaches love to be a part of it.

This season hosted several tough games in the tournament in which all U8 teams participate vying for the championship trophy and playing the game that they all love. The final game matched Tom Muddell’s Cardinals against Dawn Heuglin’s Shooting Stars. After a hard fought 48 minutes of soccer, the Shooting Stars come out as the winners of this seasons Mike Miles U8 Tournament.

A big congratulation goes out to all the U6/U8 teams for another great season and tournament. The SCSA coaches are very committed to the program and truly make a difference in many children’s lives.

The SCSA is run solely by volunteers with the motto that says it all

“Parents Make the Difference”. Through the help of parent volunteers, the program continues to grow and prosper.

The SCSA wishes to thank all of its coaches, players, parents, and referees for another outstanding season. The SCSA looks forward to working with everyone again in the fall. Good Luck to all our traveling teams participating in the Commonwealth Cup. Remember that sign- ups will be held throughout the month of January.
