Grand jury indictments

Rape, incest and sexual abuse lead off a long list of indictments placed on various individuals earlier this month by Spencer County’s grand jury.

• James Hahn, of 307 Washington Street, Apt. 3, in Taylorsville was indicted on one felony count of rape and one felony count of incest for offenses that allegedly occurred between June 1999 and June 2002. Hahn is accused of raping a child less than 12 years old and engaging in incest with a family member less than 18 years old.

The rape charge carries a possible sentence of 20 to 50 years in jail, while the incest charge could result in 10 to 20 years.

• Steven K. Waldridge, of 301 Big Springs Road in Bloomfield, will be facing court proceedings on the felony charges of incest and rape first degree. According to court documents, the incident occurred around June 26, 2007, when Waldridge allegedly raped a 13-year-old. Both offenses carry a sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison.

• Jerry Hahn, of 304 Garrard Street in Taylorsville has been indicted on three sexual abuse charges, one of which is a felony count.

According to court documents, Hahn subjected a minor that is physically helpless to sexual contact sometime between June and August 2007. This class D felony charge has a prison sentence of one to five years.

Hahn is also facing court proceedings on two misdemeanor sexual abuse charges by engaging in sexual contact with a child under 14 (between June 2006 and June 2007) and a child under 16 (between June 2007 and August 2008).

• Shawn G. Cody, of 397 Mike Brown Lane in Taylorsville, has been indicted on one felony count of planting, cultivating or harvesting marijuana with the intent to sell or transfer.

Documents state that Cody allegedly committed this offense around August 1, 2008.

This class D felony carries a potential sentence of one to five years in prison.
