Shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, a small group gathered outside the Spencer Count Courthouse with over 3,000 signatures in their hands.
United by their belief in a voter's right to chose, seven supporters walked into the county clerk's office and handed over the long-anticipated petition requesting an alcohol referendum.
"It's on the voters now," said B.J. Smith, spokesperson for the petition drive. "We trust in the voters to make the decision either way."
