Congressman Brett Guthrie announced Friday the details of the 2012 Congressional Art Competition.
Each spring, the members of the U.S. House of Representatives Congressional Arts Caucus sponsor a nation-wide high school arts competition. The contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in each Congressional District. The contest is open to all high school students.
The winning entry selected to represent the Second Congressional District of Kentucky will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol as part of an exhibition comprised of artwork from across the country.
In addition to having his or her artwork on display, the winner will also be flown, with a guest, to Washington, D.C., to attend an awards ceremony.
All entries must be an original in concept, design and execution. All entries must be submitted to one of Guthrie’s district offices by April 30.
