Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate rose to 8.1 percent in May from 7.9 percent in April, according to the state’s Office of Employment and Training.
The preliminary May jobless rate was 0.2 percentage points below the 8.3 percent rate recorded for the state in May 2012.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate increased to 7.6 percent in May from 7.5 percent in April, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
