The Spencer County Lady Bears dropped a 73-35 decision to a tough Anderson County team Saturday afternoon at the middle school.
Facing what will surely be one of the favorites to reach Bowling Green from the region, the Lady Bears fell behind early and never were able to seriously challenge the visiting Bearcats.
The visitors used their superior size inside to score easy baskets and the cause was not helped when senior Chelsea Gross went down with an injury and couldn’t play for most of the second half.
The girls, who fell to 0-6 on the season, were scheduled to be back in action Tuesday night when they traveled to North Bullitt for a 6 p.m. match-up. They are to return home Friday for a boy-girls doubleheader against Ft. Knox. The boys game will begin at 6 while the girls are slated for a 7:30 p.m. start. They’ll then get a 10-day break as they prepare for the Coca Cola/Campbellsville University Classic beginning on December 28 when they will take on Waggener.
