Come one, come all to celebrate the ones who gave us their all!
November 11 is Veterans Day but this November 7th is the day the community can come out to thank and celebrate the brave men and women who sacrificed so much for our freedoms. All veterans of KY are invited to come and be honored this day.
I encourage all hunters to come out November 7th to the Veterans Celebration and thank the veterans who protected our right to bear arms. I encourage all people of faith to come out and thank the veterans who fought for our right to worship. I encourage all of those who are able to speak freely in public to come and thank the veterans who answered the call of our country for our freedom of speech. I encourage all of those who assemble for their various causes to come and thank the veterans who took a stand to defend our nation and our right to assemble.
We are a blessed nation because of countless men and women who bled and died for our freedoms. Won’t you take the time to come out and thank those within our communities?
Please honor them this November 7th by attending their Veterans Honor Service at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Taylorsville, at 10 a.m. Please honor them by lining the streets of Taylorsville holding our beloved flag as they pass by in the Veterans Parade at noon. Make sure you stop by Spencer County High School after the parade to personally thank them for our freedoms.
Please come to honor our fallen heroes by attending the ceremonies held at the Spencer County High School during “Defenders”, the military display featuring the laying of the wreathes ceremony that will include the LMPD Mounted Patrol with the riderless horse, servicemembers of the US Army, US Navy, US Marines, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, Rolling Thunder, the Patriot Guard, State Senator Gary Tapp, State Representative Brad Montell, US Army fly-over, VFW and JROTC Color Guards, and different scouting organizations, and a flagline. This will be a solemn and moving tribute scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Spencer County High School.
Due to the high volume of vintage and military vehicles, hot air balloon, games, food and craft vendors, etc. parking for “Defenders” will be directed to the back parking lot by the school’s ballfields.
Our veterans took a stand to defend our nation won’t you take a stand to come out and thank them?
