LETTER: Don’t wait for perfect

Fellow Spencer County citizens: I am sure we all see the turmoil on the national level, and most know how important that is. I would like to remind all of you that we have a very important local decision to make. Our current Spencer County Clerk has an important job in the election itself. Many folks I have talked to are worried about the national races, but I want to remind you that we need support and sound judgment in the county as well. When you vote, choose the “R” straight ticket ... put the folks in at all levels who will work together at all levels. I was appalled at the rejection of the basics of the Democratic party platform … the shameful booing when the platform was asked to include God in the basic platform.
Our county, state and federal governments need to get a sound basis of truth, fiscal responsibility and a return of American values. We need to put our county and country on the track. Please support Lynn Hesselbrock and our other responsible candidates.
Many people say, “well this candidate is OK, but not perfect.” I say if you wait for Mr. or Ms. Perfect, the county and country is lost. Vote for those who are here now and willing to work for us. You will be surprised how well they will work for us. We have a very sick country right now, and if we wait we are lost.
