There has been much discussion about employees paid under salary (exempt) and there seems to be much misunderstanding about that term. Being curious, I looked it up and salary (exempt) is an employee on salary not eligible for overtime pay and an employee on salary (nonexempt) can receive overtime pay. There are restrictions on who can be under salary (exempt) listed in the Fair Labor Standards Act regulations and you can look them up.
