If you were not at Spencer County High School on Saturday night, you probably missed one the most exciting boys basketball game in the state this year, and for sure in many years in the Spencer County Gym. It was billed as a “white out” and most everyone was dressed in white. We also passed out white “ hand towels” for fans to wave. By 5:30 p.m. or so the whole Spencer County side was full. That is 90 minutes before game time. The game was a sell out and 80 percent of the fans were from Spencer County.
Thanks to our sixth man, Andrew Dockery, the student section was packed and he also had all the adults cheering. To see all the fans standing and cheering an waving their towels was amazing and emotional. To cap it off in an action packed game, Spencer County wins their first District Championship since 1984. Wow! Totally amazing. Now we need more FAN SUPPORT! Please take the drive to Henry County High School this Thursday, March 3, for the first game of the regional tournament..
They will play Gallatin County at 6:30 p.m. It would be great to continue with support for the team. Henry County gym seats over 4,000 people so seating will not be a problem. We need to show our support for our Bears as they continue their quest for a regional championship and a trip to Rupp Arena and the Sweet Sixteen State Tournament.
