LETTER: Thank you for helping with Ag Day

-A A +A
By The Staff

On behalf of Spencer County Farm Bureau, I would like to thank each person who worked to make this year’s Ag. Field Day a success.

First of all, thank you to Peggy Crenshaw for her tireless energy and long hours she put in to coordinate this event.

We would especially like to thank Superintendent Charles Adams, Spencer County Elementary Principal Karen Larimore, and Spencer County Middle School Principal Ed Downs for allowing us access to their school’s campus and to Taylorsville Elementary Principal Chuck Abell for helping to coordinate our efforts. Special thanks also to Michele Barlow and Rebecca Gordon in the central office.

Special thanks go to school board member and Spencer County Farm Bureau representative Scott Travis who worked to get the site ready and arrived early to facilitate the event. Also special thanks to Tim Prather for his last minute heroics to make sure all exhibitors had electrical hookups. One thing we’ve learned over the years is nothing ever goes according to plan.

Last, but not least a very special thanks to all the exhibitors. You are what makes this event go. Because of your willingness to give of yourselves over 1,000 Spencer County elementary and special needs children learned about safety at home, where food comes from, as well as possible careers in agriculture. Plans are already being made for next year’s Ag. Day which promises to be bigger and better than ever!
