April 25, 2009 was our first annual “Carnival for a Cure” downtown Taylorsville. I would like to thank everyone who made this event a huge sucess. All proceeds made that day benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
First I’d like to thank the carnival committee, especially Greg and Kathy Smith, Angela Beard, Diana and Brian Viergutz, Linda and Eric Fernandez, Martha Smith, Jennifer Goodlett, Gina and Joe McGinnis, Leanna Nation and Joyce Tindall.
I also want to thank the Main St. committee for there support and John Schircliff for stepping up and helping out a great cause. Thank you to Willow Sullivan and Taylorsville Tourism, The City of Taylorsville, The Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Pay, Judge Jenkins, and the support of the community! Thank you to Gary and Jan Kehne. Thank you to all businessess that sponsored the event.
Thank you to the local churches that stepped up with volunteers, Spencer Christian, Highview Baptist, and Fisherville Baptist. Thank you to all my friends who always have supported our daughter and JDRF. Thank you to ALL the entertainment, all the bands, the floats, the Salt River Antique Tractors, the DJ Bobby Marples, Wallen Productions, our local 4-H Trailblazers with their horses volunteering there time all day in the heat! Thank you to the Lion’s Club for the donation of the dunking booth! I hope Mr. Abell, Mr. Adams, and Mayor Pay plus all the baseball coaches have warmed up!
Thank you to our schools for stepping up and helping out! Thank you Hall-and Taylor for your tent!
Thank you to all our craft vendors, food vendors and Robert Lewis for his inflatables! Thank you DQ and McDonalds!
Thank you to Chief Toby and the police and sheriff’s dept.
The response has been astounding! Some vendors have donated back part of the proceeds they have made. People handed me money, just because it’s a great cause!
If I have not mentioned your name or organization, it’s not intentional. This thank you would take up the entire page! We REALLY appreciate you all!
Our event photographers Deborah Kaye have taken over 1,000 pictures of the carnival. If you’d like to purchase one, go to her web site at www.DebKaye.com She will donate $2.00 back to jdrf for every picture sold. We are just shy of making our $10,000 goal.
We continue to praise God and to Him be the glory. Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough. We love all of you for all you have blessed us with!
