LETTER: Thanks for making Health fair/Readifest a success

-A A +A

The Family Resource and Youth Service Center would like to thank everyone, who participated in our Annual Health Fair/Readifest.
Definitely, our community collaborated to serve our children and families for this school year.  We have sponsored with many other agencies throughout the years to provide free health screenings, health resources and information, fitness demonstrations, and free school supplies.
This year we had at least 1,200 people attend this event at Spencer County Elementary School.
Some of our sponsors this year were Spencer County Cooperative Extension Office, North Central Health District, Executive Judge Bill Karrer, Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency and several local businesses. We appreciate the sponsors listed above in helping us to have this event for our students in Spencer County School District.
Also, a special thanks to all of the churches that handed out free school supplies as well as other health agencies, businesses, and private individuals that did the same.
We are very blessed to have a community that supports and advocates the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers. Our mission is to remove barriers to learning and this event definitely addresses that issue.
Again thanks so much for your generosity to support programs for the children in our county.  If you have any questions regarding our centers, you can contact Becky Wilson, coordinator of the Family Resource Center, at 477-3202 or 477-0199 or contact Vonda Martin, coordinator of the Youth Service Center, at 477-3222 or 477-6934.
