Local FFA fares well at regional competition

On March 10, 38 members of the Spencer County FFA Chapter participated in the Northern Regional FFA Day finals, which consists of speaking, parliamentary procedure, talent and record keeping contests. Seventeen chapters competed. The top two individuals in each speaking contest advance to the state finals in June.
Members of the Spencer County FFA who placed first in their regional contests were Austin Jaggers, Public Speaking; Joseph Snider, Extemporaneous Public Speaking; Jacob Walker, Beef Impromptu; Shalynda Fleming, Crop Impromptu; Kathryn Prus, Floral Impromptu; Lauren  Brown,  Horse Impromptu; Tevin Shouse, Poultry;  Emily Hume, Sheep Impromptu; Alison McGaughey, Turf Impromptu;  and Joseph Snider, AIC.
Placing 2nd in their contests were Hannah Clayton, Greenhouse Impromptu; Amanda Martin, Nursery Impromptu;  Darilyn Browning, Creed; Danielle Montgomery, Swine Impromptu, Justin Goodlett, Talent.
The senior chapter meeting team placed first in their contest and will advance to the state. The  junior chapter meeting team placed second.
The record keeping team of  Brian Jones, Shelby West,  Tyler Goodlett, and Morgan Mayer competed but results were not available as of press time.
