Will Edwards, a seventh grader at Spencer County Middle School, recetly had the opportunity to attend Football University's (FBU) "Top Gun" football camp in Orlando.

during the year, FBU held 32 invitation only camps across the United States. From those camps 80 players were selected at each age level and invited to attend the Top Gun camp in Florida.

Edwards first attended FBU's three-day Indianapolis camp as a wide receiver. There he was coached by Glenn Smith, a former Dallas Cowboy's wide receiver coach. During the camp he learned techniques that will help him become mor efficient at the position he was playing.

Based on Edward's performance at FBU's Indianapolis camp he was extended an invitation to attend FBU' elite Top Gun camp. This camp is also a three-day event where the players work with top coaches from the NFL while competing against the best players at their age level from across the country. Edwards was invited to attend this camp as a defensive back. While there he was coached by Donnie Henderson, a former defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens.

The camp was very detailed and extremely intense. Players worked on specific techniques to help them become more proficient at their individual position. In order to evaluate the techniques they learned, as well as their skill level, players had head-to-head competitions with each other. This opportunity provided Edwards to be coached by some of the best in the business as well as the ability to go against boys from all over the United States. Edwards said, "It was a great opportunity and learning experience that I will treasure forever."
