A Mount Washington man has been indicted on charges including burglary and theft at Waterford Park in March, allegedly with the help of a juvenile.
James R. Branum, 31, of the 100 block of Frank Lane was indicted by a Spencer County Grand Jury July 25 on one count of third-degree burglary-complicity, one county of theft by unlawful taking under $500-complicity, third-degree criminal mischief-complicity and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.
According to the indictment, the alleged incident occurred March 31 when Branum unlawfully entered a building at the park. The indictment states that Branum, alone or in complicity with others, removed concessions inventory belonging to the county and defaced, destroyed or damaged a cable gate, security camera and floodlight at the park.
According to the indictment, the second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor charge stemmed from Branum knowingly inducing, assisting or causing a minor to engage in criminal activity constituting a felony.
Branum’s court file showed that a criminal summons was served by the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office for Branum to appear in Spencer Circuit Court Sept. 12 at 9 a.m.
