Isaac Norman, the first of the Norman families to reside in Kentucky came here in 1793 with his wife and five of his eight children. Isaac, was born in Virginia, and migrated to Shelby County from Culpepper, Virginia and North Carolina, after his grandfather died, and the family settled in the Elk Creek community of that area of Shelby County that became Spencer County. He was part of the westward migration following the Revolutionary War. Isaac Jr.
