Local attorney Robert Coots is shown being sworn in as a special Supreme Court justice by Kentucky Supreme Court Chief Justice John D. Minton. Coots was appointed by Gov. Steve Beshear on Nov. 3, 2011, and sat as a member of the Supreme Court of Kentucky on Feb. 16, 2012, to hear and vote on one case. The case was completed with an opinion rendered Aug. 23, 2012.
