“It just felt like God was sending me this way,” said Virginia Smith of Taylorsville. “Because, it’s all working out.” Smith prepared packages for the soldiers of her son-in-laws Army Unit out of Fort Hood, now serving in Iraq. She was able to do this with money raised through; her church, All Saint’s Catholic, her pinochle club and her family and friends. Boxes filled with some necessities to make soldiers lives a bit easier, while hopefully making them feel a bit closer to home were to be sent out Thursday, September 4, to Iraq.
